I’m thinking about buying a Ruuvi sensor for temperature monitoring.
If the threshold is exceeded, does it emit an audible alert? That would be important to me.

Unfortunately, the RuuviTag itself does not have a loudspeaker. However, if sounds are enabled on your mobile phone, an alert notification sound will be played there. But please note that this is not intended to be a loud alarm, but rather a notification sound indicating that something requires your attention.

Today I got my first Ruuvi tag and tried out the sound feature.
I couldn’t help but laugh. The sound was really quiet and kind of funny.
It would be nice if you could at least get a sound through the app, like an alarm clock, or even choose your own sound.
In my opinion, the tag itself doesn’t need a sound feature.

Hi @jan99, you can choose your own alert sound in your mobile device OS settings. Instructions below, choose the one for your device model:
iOS:
Settings → Notifications
You will be able to choose between Ruuvi Alert sound or System Default alert sound in Alert Sound settings. Additionally, iOS uses the Sounds & Haptics system setting for adding vibration to sound alerts.
Android:
Settings → Notifications ->Ruuvi Station → App notification setting
For general notification settings, you will be able to choose to allow sound and vibration or deliver quietly in App notifications.
For general sounds and vibration settings you will be able to choose between Sound modes, choose different ringtones and adjust vibration intensity.
