Sensor reception

Hello collective. Just installed a number of sensors around my yacht. All work flawlessly and integrate seamlessly with my Cerbo GX driven electrical system - except for the sensors in my engine bay. Can’t get a signal from them when the bay :door: are closed. The area has sound and heat protection. Could the heat protection be blocking the BT signal?

Hi @Mike_H ,

It’s very likely that the insulation and the door could be blocking the Bluetooth signal.

We are bringing out a new product RuuviTag Pro + external temperature sensor, that could possibly solve this issue (external sensor has 50 cm cable) if it’s possible to set the sensor outside of the area where signal is blocked. This package will be available soon in our web shop.

Did you experiment with external BT dongles? I have the same problems as you. I bought a USB dongle with big antenna, but still no signal most of the time. TBH I have noe way of telling if the cerbo is actually using the dongle or not.

Hi @Raymond_Karlsen ,

Some Bluetooth dongles are indeed reported to work better than others. There is a list of recommended ones here: Victron community forum.
