RuuviTag Pro as a Flooding Sensor for boats

Hi, kann i use a RuuviTag pro as a Flood warning sensor on my boat?
Idea: Boat dry = normal humidity, boat sinking = 100% humidity?

Hi @Tom ,

Thanks for your message! I’m afraid that wouldn’t work very well, since Ruuvi sensors are not designed to get in direct contact with water, even the sensor cover itself gives limited protection for the electronics.

My outdoor sensor has had 100% humidity for last 3 days, and it is definitely not sinking

If you want to use ruuvi, maybe make some kind of mechanical system which changes the orientation of sensor if water gets in That way you could use the accelometer data.

Hi Tom,

Following @harriv 's idea:

You can try what @dgerman did here:

Best,

Hi. Thanks for ideas and advice. Ich think I will try to use the digital input of my Victron GlobalLink and connect it with the 12 Volt supply of the automatic bilge pump or a simple humidity detector. I would appreciate if a RuuviTag for Flooddetection will be developed. Seems to me a common use case. Greetings.
