Ruuvi tag external temperature

great to see that we finally have a Ruuvi tag with an external sensor. However, as of this point, I miss a lot of information. Some examples:

  • will it show up in station as a regular 2in1, with the temperature originating from the external sensor rather than the internal?
  • is the probe hardwired or does it have a connector?
  • will you sell replacement probes and or different variants?
  • is the probe an PT100 or PT1000?
  • Is the probe replacable with my own probe in case I need another cable length or another type of probe form-factor?
  • is the BLE data payload of the same format?
  • is the sensor still advertising at 1.2 seconds or another interval? How often is the temperature itself measured?
  • how does this sensor relate to the generic external sensor interface I have been reading about of the forum?

Hello,

Yes

There is a connector

Not right now, it’s a full package

TMP117, i.e. a digital sensor rather than resistive

It’s possible to make your own TMP117-based probe, but practically the cable of probe is not replaceable and I don’t think there are matching probes on the market

Yes

Yes, 1.2 s. Temperature is measured at 2.5 s interval, i.e. 2 duplicate advertisements

The sensor uses the generic interface
