Have e.g. 24 hours of cached data to send the data to the backend in case of network downtime

IMO the data resolution could be drastically reduced depending on the cache size, to something like one value per 5 or 10 minutes (6-12 values per device per hour).

EDITED after reading telegram posting 10/4/21 which prompted this suggestion due to nightly outages inflicted by elisa turning off some network nightly.
