I’ve installed a new sensor in my freezer and connected the tag to my Victron Cerbo and IOS app. Why do I get three sensors showing up in my cerbo? One of the model numbers is just one from mine. Is there a way to identify my sensor? Serial number maybe.
Additionally it’s frustrating that the sensor is advertised for things like freezers and fridges but the bluetooth signal can barely reach 2 meters outside of the freezer. I’m using an external bluetooth on my Victron. Same reception for my phone. The battery reads 2.9.
Thanks for your message. It is possible that the Victron system recognises some Bluetooth devices from supported manufacturers, also other than Ruuvi, within the Bluetooth range of your Cerbo.
If your mobile device supports NFC, you will be able to see the MAC address of your RuuviTag in Ruuvi Station app when you go to Add a New sensor page and choose to scan the sensor with NFC. If your device doesn’t support NFC, the Add a New sensor page lists RuuviTag sensors by proximity so the nearest will be at the top of the list. Add the sensor to Ruuvi Station and check the MAC address on the added sensor cards Sensor Settings page under More info.
Wireless signals can be significantly affected by physical barriers, such as specific metals. Unfortunately, these barriers affect all wireless communication signals, including Ruuvi sensors. Thank you very much. I didn’t even think the Victron might be picking up other sensors on our boat but that’s what’s happening. I’m also trying some of the position settings from the faq and that seems to be helping just enough to get a usable signal out of the freezer. Thanks again
