Esimerkiksi pakastinhuoneen lämpötilan mittaamisen ja lämpötilahälytyksen ongelma on, että lämpötilahäly tulee heti, kun lämpötila huoneessa nousee liikaa. Pelkkä muutaman minuutin ovenavaus täydennystä varten laukaisee hälytyksen. Tagin sijainnilla on merkitystä, mutta se ei ratkaise ongelmaa. Pitäisi saada asettaa hälyraja esimerkiksi siten, että tietyn asetetun ajan sisällä keskilämpötila ei saa nousta/laskea asetetun rajan yli. Pitäisi olla melko helppo toteuttaa.
