First-generation RuuviTag does not show up on current station app

Hi,

I reactivated my old RuuviTag today. But the RuuviStation app does not find it. It worked like a charm a few years ago. The app looks totally different now, is it possible that it is not compatible anymore? Is it possible that my phone’s bluetooth is not compatible with the old RuuviTag? I don’t find any specifications of the old RuuviTag, only the page for the new one. Are the old specifications still available somewhere?

The RuuviTag seems to work fine, the small green LED is blinking regularly. Here is how it looks like, the current model seems to look different.

It is possible that your RuuviTag has a really old firmware which is not supported on Android operating system anymore.

You can update it using nRF Connect app. Instructions can be found here:

On that page, find title: RuuviTag firmware using nRF Connect (Advanced)

Note the part “Please notice that very old RuuviTag firmware has to be updated with firmware package that also contains SDK update.”
