Blog part 1: Current consumption is more and Hex not found

hi, I am following your blog post to get familiarise myself. I observed mismatch in current consumption

My setup

  1. Ruuvi development kit
  2. Power profile kit II

I cloned the project and compiled the code 3.1.1-Alpha. When I measured the current, I observed about 20uA current is drawn by the downloaded code. In the blog post it was mentioned 4uA. for me, I am getting 5 times higher than what is mentioned. To check if I am doing any mistake in compilation, I tried to find the hex file, but the link provided in the blog post to download the hex is not working. please see the screenshot of PPK II.

Could you suggest any solution? if you need more details, I will provide.

Hello,

Is the tag you’re measuring disconnected from the devkit? What board variant you are using?

No. I have not disconnected the tag from the devkit. should I need to remove it form the devkit? then how to measure the current?

Board Variant : RuuviTag Sensor (4in1)

Hello,

To measure the current consumption, you need to program the RuuviTag using devkit or other SWD programmer and then disconnect it. This way you can ensure no current is leaking to devkit or back.

I generally have two tags, one which I use for firmware development on top of devkit and one which has soldered wires to battery connector for power connection and nothing else. I then measure the power consumption on the tag dedicated for power measurements.

Ok. I will check it that way.

I Just saw that you have already covered the power profiling topic in your blog post Power profiling your application - Ruuvi
