Battery or accubattery

Hi
Can I use 3,7V rechargable 2477 in ruuvitag? (LIR 2477 …

Hello,

I think the components are rated to 3.6V operation, and absolute maximum is around 3.9-4.2 depending on components. If the battery is 4.2 V right off the charger, it might fry some components instantly.

3.7 V is more than recommended, but it just might work out. Or it might cause some degradation over time, such poorer accuracy or higher power consumption than expected.

3.6V should be within limits, but we don’t test RuuviTags above 3.3 V operation and we cannot guarantee it would work for any length of time.

To summarise, there is a good chance that it will work out if the battery is actually 3.7 V, it will probably fry the tag if battery is 4.2 V and even if it works initially the high voltage might eventually wear down components.
